One of the main virtues of the project is the point of arrival and the entrance hall. Upon arrival, instead of a narrow space, the user enters the apartment in a grand, generous foyer, which leads to a two-way door to a bedroom and a spacious living room. It was an attribute that the client immediately fell in love with, so with the design our aim was to even highlight this feature more. During the development of the floorplan, the priority was to keep the intimacy of the bedroom, while having a continuous, grandiose series of spaces in the whole flat. Opening together the kitchen-living-dining room comfortably suits hosting bigger groups of people and the room is well-defined and functionally ordered by characteristic items and furniture. The design of the floor-to-ceiling bookshelf at the end of the room is subtle in its form to be able to store many design elements and a sophisticated literature collection that colors the ambiance of the space. The back of the kitchen blends into the main wall meanwhile the kitchen island stands in the middle of the space as a bespoke item on its own. The cozy reading bench was tailor-made in that nook to allow the user to enjoy the evening reading sessions. The basin in the bathroom is also custom-made from marble terrazzo slabs and uniquely designed for this bathroom to stand out in the muted and greyish environment.
In addition, the one-bedroom, elaborate apartment incorporates a washing room, a walk-in closet, and a bathroom that is accessible directly from the bedroom.
The apartment's furniture, complemented by various art pieces is reminiscent of the client's New York years. The property's style is a blend of modern and Japanese styles with the eclectic mood of Budapest and New York. This mixture provides an exciting and comfortable atmosphere to the flat.
